It is a once-a-day pill that you can take to protect yourself from HIV. This medication is a great option for people who may not use condoms regularly or who are concerned about potential HIV exposure. This medication requires some blood work every 3 months that can be done at one of our outpatient labs. You can start PrEP through our video, phone and in-person clinic visits. After you get your lab work you can pick up your PrEP medication from our pharmacy or it can be mailed to the address of your choice! Did we mention that both the PrEP and lab work are free?
Or did you test positive at another clinic and need treatment? We’ve got you! If you know what you were exposed to or which infection you have, we can get you the right medication through a quick video visit, phone visit or an in-person visit at one of our clinics. For certain infections you can pick up medication from our pharmacy or have it mailed to an address of your choice. We can even include treatment for your partners! For other infections we may ask you to come into clinic for an in-person visit so we can get you the right treatment.
Birth control can do lots of things besides prevent pregnancy. It can help make painful periods hurt less and stop heavy bleeding. It can even stop people from having a period entirely! Because who wants painful, heavy periods? We have several birth control options available at BC4U and everything is free. We can even mail several options to an address of your choice, so you have more time to go live your life!
Free pregnancy tests can be done in-person at one of our clinic locations, after a phone or video visit at one of our labs or we can mail you a pregnancy test to an address of your choice. It takes just a few minutes, so you’ll know your results right away.
We can mail a STI kit to you, have you come into clinic or have you visit one of our labs. If you come into clinic or one of our labs we will ask you to pee in a cup and then we will run the tests. If you don’t hear from us a few days, then you can assume your tests are negative – woohoo! The most common STDs we see with the pee test are chlamydia and gonorrhea. If you want us to look for HIV or syphilis, we can do that with a blood test. For herpes and warts, we have to see a bump or sore to know what’s going on. If you can’t pee when you come see us, we can still test you with a small cotton swab in your vagina or penis. Yep, it can be done, but most people prefer to pee.
We can give you a very safe high-dose birth control pill that may prevent the release of an egg. It won’t affect your current birth control method but could change the timing of your period. This is not an abortion pill, and it won’t harm or end an existing pregnancy. People oftentimes refer to this as Plan B or Ella. We offer free emergency contraception through our video, phone and in-person clinic visits 🙂
